As part of the Virtual Launch for my debut novel, Osian Rhys reads Eric Wasserman’s First Letter in this second recording of a third excerpt from Wait a Lonely Lifetime. This monologue follows Sylviana’s second letter to the man she hasn’t seen or heard from in 15 years.
Osian Rhys, despite his youth, has been a professional actor for over 20 years. Much of his work has been for television in Wales as well as musical theater and drama. His portrayal of Mark Pritchard in the acclaimed film, Submarine, has won him many deserved accolades.
Osian’s next stage appearance will be as Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls, presented by the Carmarthen Amateur Operatic Society, the longest continually performing musical theater group in the British Isles. One of his most moving performances was as John Proctor in The Crucible, directed by Bryony Evett Hackfort.
He is also involved with The Coracle Theater Project’s outdoor production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream.
This recording was made at the Farmhouse Studios in Llangain, Carmarthen. The producer/recording engineer is Adam Quill, an acting alumni of Merlin Youth Theatre and Musical Director of the company for several of their recent productions.
